Mellor Country House - our charity for 2018-2019
Mellor Country House is a UK charity, built in 1907, set in three acres of garden and woodland located in the pretty village of Mellor. The charity is dedicated to providing respite breaks for groups, families, carers and individuals primarily from the nearby urban areas who could not, otherwise, have a break at all. The Charity's aim is to provide a safe, secure, relaxing and uplifting environment for the financially and socially disadvantaged. For many of the people who stay at the house, this break from the hardships of their day-to-day existence can, literally, be a life-saver.

Our Models: In October a number of our members became models for the evening to raise money for the Wellspring. M&Co open their doors for local charities once a year (they also run a show for their own charity one a year). We had a really good evening, and are extremely grateful to all the local shops and businesses that donated prizes for our raffle.
The members of our WI were supplemented by staff from M&Co and by very willing menfolk (!) A very pretty young model completed the cast - and much hilarity (or panic with quick changes) took place behind the scenes.

Presentation - at our November meeting we presented Mr Peter Hodgkinson with a cheque for £500.00, which was mostly raised by the Fashion Show, but also from voluntary donations.
